The Pre-Wedding Edit: 40 Little White Dresses

We’re T-minus 80 days out from our engagement party! That’s not really a milestone of any sort, but I’ll take any reason to celebrate all of our wedding festivities. Since the whole wedding weekend will be in the suburbs of Philly where I grew up, we decided to change it up and host our small engagement party outside of Boston, where Dave is from.

It’s true what they say – you don’t realize how many people you know and love until you get married (is that what they say? Idk but I’m saying it now). Since we wanted to keep the engagement party to under 25ish guests from our side (Dave’s parents will add another 25 or so), our criteria for the invite list includes those we would have asked to be in our hypothetical bridal party. Dave and I are not doing a traditional bridal party since our venue is small, and it was going to look ridiculous with a 20 people up at the altar. That, and there is something I find ~romantic~ about having just the two of us up there as we say our vows. However, when it came to the engagement party, the imaginary bridal party served as a good guideline of who to invite.

It’ll be a pre-holiday season cocktail party at a local country club, and since I’ve gotta err on the side of conservative with my attire (the club doesn’t allow jeans so the backless dress is obvi not an option here), I’m giving ya’ll a mix of little white dress options that range from country-club-friendly to…made in Miami? As for me, I haven’t picked out my engagement party dress yet because decisions are not my strong suit when spoiled for choice. In the meantime, I’ll just be over here playing dress up in my Shein dress – till next time!

xx,
Anna
