We’ve got one more night in Cape Cod before heading back to Connecticut, and while nothing beats the Cape in the summer, there is a certain magic about this little beach town in the off season when the weather is cool and the people are scarce.
It’s that time of year where a high of 48ºF is considered a nice day, and we’re making the most of the above freezing temperatures by taking lots of walks on the beach and introducing Sawyer to sand and the ocean! Verdict: she’s long on sand, short on the ocean.
We’ve been lucky enough to have a covid-friendly NYE getaway, and have been spending our time here eating lots of takeout (shout out to Bluefins for the best NYE to-go meal I’ve ever head), dining outdoors, and catching up on our favorite TV shows (ie. Never Have I Ever and The Bachelorette…Tayshia ended up with Zac and we are totally shipping them!).
I’ve been sporting my teddy bear coat both indoors and out while here. It’s the perfect layer of warmth for a chilly, but not freezing day, but is also light enough to double as a cozy sweatshirt indoors. It comes in about 800 colors (mine is in Khaki), and I’m loving how it looks over my white overalls.
SHOP MY LOOK:
Teddy Coat in Khaki
White Overalls (mine are from Zara and are no longer available, but these are a similar style!)
Cole Haan Zerogrand Hiker Boot (a shearling-collared version of mine)
This is the time of year where people typically resolve to become saints with abs. And, while I’m not usually one for New Year’s resolutions, I suppose it’s tough to look back on the year humanity had and not want to implement some sort of positive change. So, instead of resolving to eat less sugar or get ripped, I resolve to live with more intent and to fight, tooth and nail, against my anxiety. If 2020 has taught me anything, it’s that nothing is ever really as bad as the monsters in my head make it seem.
xx,
Anna
