Fall is my favorite season. I may be partial because I was born in the fall, but seriously, who doesn’t love the colors of the changing leaves, mild temperatures, and all those apple cider donuts that are now somehow acceptable to eat because hashtag fall. And, it also marks the last bit of the year where we can use our backyard without freezing to death, so clearly I needed to decorate in due fashion before the black tarp goes over the patio furniture for next 3+ months.
Honestly though, I had no interest in buying 58 pumpkins, 10 bales of hay, and 25 planters in varying shapes and sizes just so my patio could feel appropriately dressed for fall. Pumpkins die, planters require upkeep (and also die), and hay is…hay (does my city garbage even pick up bales of hay?). I wasn’t willing to spend money on decor that I could only use for a season, so here is my fall patio decked out in all reusable items that you can pull out autumn after autumn (or other seasons, too!).

Most of these items were HomeGoods finds, but here is a list of comparable items that you can buy online.
Decorative Pumpkins (HomeGoods has about 35 versions of this right now, but here are some great options in case you don’t have an HG near you)
13″ Carvable Plastic Halloween Pumpkin – $12.00
13″ Craft Pumpkin – $11.99
Galvanized Metal Pumpkin – $42.99
26.5″ Fall Halloween Stacked 3 Piece Pumpkins – $49.98
Pinstripe Pumpkin – $47.20
While you’re at it, check out the whole designer pumpkin line from Grandin Road. I want them all.
Lantern
S.H. 20″ Wood Decorative Candle Lantern – $36.99
Smart Design Camden Lantern with LED Candle – $34.03
Orchid & Ivy White Wood Rustic Lantern – $32.99
Rustic Pumpkin Patch Signs
Maiyuan Pumpkin Patch Sign – $11.99
Local Legends Farm Fresh Pumpkins Sign – $13.99
Lakeside Metal Pumpkin Sign – $18.98
Farmhouse Sign – $19.87
Glitzhome Enameled Metal Truck Wall Sign – $22.99

Wood Things
Wood Farmhouse Serving Platter – $18.49 (this is actually the serving platter I have, sorry HomeGoods, not this time).
Natural Wood Bark Bowl – $19.99

Tall Gold Thing:
Tiara End Table – $52.00 (A gold cocktail table would be the perfect, and maybe even a better substitute for the gold pillar candle holders. While the floor length candle holder is a nice look, they’re admittedly not very practical. A cocktail table could serve as both a decorative piece and as a drink holder. The key here is something narrow, tall and gold. Doesn’t really matter what you use).
Bundles of Dried Things
Dried Wheat Bundle – $33.58
Dried Phalaris Bundle – $23.50
Floor Vases
Randel Pitcher 2 Piece Floor Vase Set – $62.99
Carnanreagh White Metal Vase – $51.99
Tall White Punched Metal Vase – $39.99
More Decorative Pumpkins
Autumn Hill 9.5″ Decorative Pumpkin – $9.99
New Star 13.5″ Wood Curl Pumpkin – $29.99
White Large Pumpkin with Leaves – $22.97

Throw Pillow Covers (my tasseled and gray pillows, linked below, are from Target and are specifically for outdoors. The gold pillow is from HomeGoods, but there is a whole world of fall-inspired pillows out there that I wish I had more sofas for).
2 Pack Outdoor Throw Pillows (Gray) – $30.00
Tasseled Outdoor Gold Throw Pillow – $25.00
Macrame Outdoor Throw Pillow – $25.00

Set of 2 Farmhouse Buffalo Plaid Checked Throw Pillow Covers – $20.99
Kithomer Pick Your Own Pumpkin Patch Throw Pillow Cover – $9.99
Striped Corduroy Yellow Throw Pillow Cover – $7.99
Mernette Pack of 2 Chenille Soft Decorative Throw Pillow Covers – $14.99

Seagrass Braided Tray – $36.99
Water Hyacinth Serving Tray – $39.50
Decorative Banana Leaf Woven Tray – $45.00
2 Piece Hearth & Hand Kitchen Towel Set – $4.99 (My flour sack kitchen towel pictured here is from the Hearth & Hand Magnolia Collection at Target, though in a different pattern)
Apple Pie Recipe Flour Sack Kitchen Towel – $3.99 (Also from the Hearth & Hand line…I have enough kitchen towels to last me a lifetime, but this one is so cute I may just need to add it to the collection)
Ceramic Teapot – $16.99
European Style Vintage Teapot – $25.99
Artificial Sunflower in Metal Pot Arrangement – $12.99
9″ x 5″ Artificial Hopps Arrangement – $16.00

As always, I encourage you to look around and see what you have already to up your fall patio game. Barring the two decorative pumpkins and the rustic wood sign, everything else here can be used in other areas of your home once fall is over. And, if you’re looking for a fun and inexpensive DIY project, stay tuned for how I turned my old lightbulbs into these adorable twine pears!

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Fall, ya’ll!
