Understatement of the year: 2020 has been absolute poo. While the silver lining tells me that I do have a lot to be grateful for on a personal level, I am saddened (and have much anxiety) about that round spiky thing invading the human population. What used to be a simple decision (let’s go see our families out of state for the weekend! It’ll be fun!) has now become process of making sure we quarantine for two weeks ahead of time, assault our nasal passages in the drive-through at CVS, and wish upon a freaking star that we do not catch the virus or pass it onto older family members.
I took the above photo at Stowe, Vermont, on New Year’s Eve last year, where Dave and I have now made a tradition of going and kicking off the new year and ski season. We won’t be going this year, because #covid, so like, obviously I bought ski-themed Christmas decor:

With Thanksgiving around the corner, I’d like to say a prayer for the collective human race that the only thing we catch at the dinner table is indigestion from that overdone turkey your weird Uncle can never get right.
In other news, I’d like your thoughts and prayers for me on an individual level, as it will be the first time I am taking our 12-week-old “sprightly” puppy on a 3 hour car ride and living somewhere else for a week. While the potty training is going well, we have affectionately dubbed her Nipsey Pupsle, which should tell you everything about our struggles right now.

You’ll have to excuse the lack of home decor on today’s post as we just closed on our first little rental house (silver lining!) and are busy getting it ready to rent. I’m looking forward to sharing with you some easy DIY updates I made to the kitchen in a later post, but in the meantime, I hope you are staying healthy, both physically and mentally, as we gear up for the oddest holiday season in recent memory.
