For those of you not familiar with Asian-American vernacular, you can find the definition of an Asian Baby Girl here. While I don’t spend my days hanging out with with gangsters and doing drugs, I definitely appreciate a good big puffy hair day (it’s called volume, guys!). This teddy coat gives me major J.Lo vibes ala Hustlers and makes me want to stare in the soul of my camera and *not* smile.
In other less-sexy news…our main sewer line backed up on Sunday night after we came home from spending Christmas with our families. I wish I could say I looked this gangster while I dealt with having plumber after plumber traipse through my house so that I could finally take a shower, but if you watched my Instagram stories, you know I most definitely did NOT look anything like the above.
We’ve had the sewer line back up twice already, so at this point, we’re getting estimates to just replace the whole thing. Since we’re planning on having this house forever, it’s worthy investment (and honestly, even if we weren’t, it’s getting too expensive to have to pay a plumber $500 every few months to come and snake the sewer line). Sometimes you get to spend your coins on things like gangster teddy coats, and other times you get to spend them on making sure you can take a poo without it overflowing into your basement.

While I’m sure it’s been entertaining reading about our sewer problems, it’s probably better if I spare you the grisly details and move onto what I’m wearing here. The teddy coat is becoming one of my favorite outdoor and indoor looks. It’s heavy enough to provide warmth in the chilly weather, but also light enough that it sort of feels like an ultra-luxe hotel robe that I can sport around the house because I’m always cold.
I dug out my rhinestone choker from the archives of my jewelry box because it feels like faux fur and faux diamonds just work together. I don’t really have many opportunities to wear the choker these days (R.I.P. club girl Anna from the 2010s), but it was fun donning it for this look. Lastly, big shout out to my NYU girls for the CELINE chained wallet. It was the perfect 30th birthday gift.

My black leather boots are from Aldo forever ago so while you can’t get the exact pair, I am crushing on a similar pair, the DKNY Cora Boots.
Hope you are all dealing with issues that don’t involve your sewer line. We are trying to get things wrapped up here as soon as possible so we can head out to Cape Cod tomorrow afternoon for NYE without a long to-do list to come back to.
xx,
Anna
