We interrupt your regularly scheduled programming to bring you pictures of puppies:

We pick up our English Cream Golden Retriever puppy in 19 days and honestly I can’t even describe how excited/anxious/happy I am (seriously hoping she doesn’t poop everywhere and chew all my home decor, but I will love her regardless). I couldn’t resist buying some small decor and puppy bling in the meantime to countdown the days until she joins our family. How cute is this rustic letterboard? We’ll use it to mark each month of her growth once she arrives. In the meantime, it’s serving as a cute reminder of the dwindling days till we have a fur baby in the house.

There are 800 versions of this on Amazon, Etsy, Wayfair, my mom’s house, your mom’s house, the universe, etc. However, I chose this one here because it comes with pre-cut letters – ain’t nobody got time to be cutting the plastic alphabet, am I right? I’ve seen these boards used for wedding countdowns, baby countdowns, puppy milestones, inspirational quotes, and basically whatever message you want to display to all the humans in your household.
The personalized dog tag is from an awesome Etsy vendor called The Singing Koala (Koalas sing?), because if my puppy is ever lost, she’s gonna be lost in style with my address and phone number on the back of her tag (seriously hoping this also never happens).
And yes – her name will be Sawyer! We spent the bulk of our quarantine watching the entire One Tree Hill series over margaritas (okay, so we only made it to season 7, but that’s still 7 years of OTH and it was back when TV shows were 20 episodes long!) We chose Sawyer after one of the characters’ surnames and because I love androgynous names. She’s our pandemic puppy since it looks like most of our beloved winter activities (skiing, eating out, being indoors with friends) are out of the picture for now, so we’ll have plenty of time to teach her how to behave around all my precious twine pears made out of glass light bulbs.
I’m already hunting for a Rae Dunn dog mom mug and more dog-related home decor to overstate the obvious. There aren’t enough hours in the day to browse all the dog bandanas from The Foggy Dog and what-about-a-sheepskin-rug-for-her-to-lounge-on-but-would-also-serve-as-home-decor? Overboard is not a word in my vocabulary.
