Growing up, I used to look forward to waking up on snow days, hearing the automated voicemail that school was cancelled, and crawling back into bed for just a bit longer. While I’m no longer in grade school, I still find something magical about falling snow – that brief moment of time when the world is perfectly blanketed in a layer of powdered sugar. The plows, the footprints (and the dogs!) inevitably follow, but just for a moment, there’s a quietness to the world that nature brings.
I haven’t done yoga in years, so my one-legged chair pose needs some work, but I had so much fun shooting this look yesterday and getting weird in the snow.

My favorite puffer jacket from Abercrombie is on sale right now for 30% off and I’m tempted to go buy it in more colors. For how lightweight and affordable this is in the world of outerwear, it’s surprisingly warm. I can take Sawyer on a forty minute walk in 30ºF weather and feel like my dog isn’t the only one with a fur coat on.
On top of that, it’s stylish. Seriously, it’s so difficult to find a puffer that doesn’t transform me into some version of a human oompa loompa, so I very much appreciate the slightly tailored look of this jacket and the many ways I can style it. I paired it with some sweatpants and my snow boots for a more casual look (or for shoveling snow), but the jacket can be dressed up with a pair of black jeans and riding boots as well.

It’s hump day, #womencrushwednesday, or whatever you like to think of this mid-week day as. For those of you following along on Instagram, I’ll be starting a new mini-series in my stories where I discuss mental health and all the ways I stay sane in this truly insane world, aka #WellnessWednesdays. So many people around me, as well as yours truly, have been affected by mental illness, and really, is there ever enough time to talk about all the anxiety we, as a collective whole, are carrying around? Sending you some love no matter what you’re feeling today.
xx,
Anna
