“Deck the halls with boughs of camel-colored coats, fa la la la la la la la la.” Okay, so that’s not how the song goes but there is just SOMETHIN’ ABOUT FALL where all the glorified brown in my closet comes ALIVE. I snagged the one I’m wearing above from J. Crew earlier on in the summer and finally got to take it for a spin in San Francisco last weekend (bc it’s still oppressively humid in CT right now).
Because a good camel-colored coat never goes out of style, here are all the options for you if you’re looking for your own. I broke these down into three categories to suit every budget out there for all my bougee and/or bougee-on-a-budget babes out there.
BUDGET BABES (UNDER $100)
Note that, in true H&M fashion, many of their coats will be sold out by you read this because they can’t keep their stock for more than 10 minutes. However, I’ve had a lot of success by signing up for their email notifications when the items come back in stock. I find that, usually, most of their new arrivals always do at least one or two restocks before leaving us for good.
HALFWAY BOUGEE BABES (UNDER $200)
These were, oddly enough, the hardest to find. My J. Crew trench pictured above falls squarely in between “bougee and budget” and evidently, not many others fall into that category, so here are my top four picks for if you’re looking to splurge a little, but not a lot.
BOUGEE BABES ($200+)
No explanation needed. For those of you where money is no object for your camel coats.
That’s all for now, hunnies. ALSO, not that this has anything to do with my love of glorified brown coats, but I saw this on Insta the other day and like, I wish I heard this three years ago when I was a young, wild, and dumb twenty-something running around NYC:
“You are not someone’s backup plan.”
xx,
Anna
